Privacy policy

How we use personal information for enquiries, online tuition, bookings and payments, and how to exercise your rights.

Last updated: 31 October 2026

Who is responsible

Learn Computing, a sole trader business operated by Faisel Shuib in England, UK, trading as CS Mastery Academy, is responsible for the personal information used to run this service. Our main contact for every privacy request or concern is admin@learncomputing.online. This notice applies to parents, guardians, adult learners and students. A short explanation for younger learners appears below.

Business and correspondence address: Office 2, Upper Floor, 225 Finney Lane, Heald Green, Cheadle, SK8 3PX, United Kingdom. Our main contact remains admin@learncomputing.online.

Information we use

For a booking we ask for a parent/guardian name and email, a student first name or reference, year group, course, chosen dates and payment/package choice. We keep the booking reference, amount, payment status, Stripe Customer and Checkout identifiers, and records of accepted terms and any early-start request. You may use a student reference to avoid providing a child’s full name. We do not ask for a child’s date of birth, school, medical details or identity documents in the booking form.

Enquiries include the information you choose to send and a phone number if you request a callback. Teaching may involve a learner’s display name, voice/video during Google Meet, questions, work and requested teaching materials. Lessons are not recorded. Security and hosting systems may process IP addresses, request times, browser information and error logs. Stripe collects payment details directly on its checkout; our website does not collect or store full card numbers, bank-login credentials or wallet passwords.

Why we use information and the lawful basis

Required booking information is needed to administer the service. If it is not provided we may be unable to accept the booking. Optional information is identified as optional. We do not sell personal information or use pupil data for advertising profiles.

Service providers and sharing

We use Namecheap hosting for website operation and restricted booking storage, Stripe for payments and associated customer records, and Google services for business email, Google Meet lessons, Google Calendar scheduling, and the private Google Sheets booking register. Relevant information is shared with those providers to deliver these functions. A selected payment method may also involve the relevant bank or wallet provider, such as PayPal. Each payment provider explains its own processing in its privacy notice.

We share only information needed for the purpose. Group attendees may see the names, voices, video or messages that other attendees choose to share in a lesson; do not disclose sensitive information to a group. We may share relevant information with professional advisers, authorities or safeguarding agencies when necessary and lawful. We do not publish the booking register or share a learner’s payment details with other students.

International processing

Our hosting, Google, Stripe and payment-method providers may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer is involved, we must use a lawful transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards, and any required assessment. Email us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data and how to obtain a copy. Use of a provider does not mean that every item of data remains in the UK.

Retention

We keep information only for its purpose, then delete or anonymise it, subject to legal requirements. Booking, payment and contract records are retained while needed to deliver the lessons and deal with refunds, accounting, tax obligations and legal claims. The appropriate period depends on the applicable tax-year deadline, statutory record-keeping rules and whether a dispute is open. Teaching correspondence and work are reviewed when tuition ends; there is no lesson-recording archive.

Website enquiry copies expire after up to 90 days through the enquiry service’s expiry checks. Unconfirmed resource-mailing registrations expire after 30 days; withdrawal records use a hashed address and withdrawal date for up to 90 days. Active mailing registrations remain until withdrawal or until no longer needed. Browser preferences remain until cleared. Hosting and provider security logs have their own retention arrangements. A legal hold may require relevant records to be retained longer. Ask us about the retention criteria for a particular record.

Your rights and choices

Email admin@learncomputing.online to request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability where applicable. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including use of your child’s information, and may object to direct marketing at any time. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. These rights have legal conditions and exceptions; keeping an accounting record does not necessarily mean we can delete it immediately.

We normally respond to a rights request within one month. We may need proportionate information to verify the requester’s identity, and will explain any lawful extension or refusal. A child has their own data rights; we assess the child’s understanding, welfare and any parent’s authority when responding. Please do not email identity documents unless we have agreed a secure and necessary verification method.

Cookies, email and automated processing

See the cookie notice for the session cookies and requested browser settings used by the site and for third-party checkout technologies. Transactional booking, support and requested-material communications are distinct from marketing. Any optional resource-mailing subscription uses a separate choice and confirmation process; unsubscribe using its link or email us. Booking is not conditional on marketing consent.

Software checks timetable availability, calculates the selected package price, reserves capacity and checks payment status. These are booking-administration rules, not pupil grading or a solely automated decision about educational eligibility. Contact us for human review of an error.

For students

We use a first name or student reference and your course information to organise your lessons. Your parent or guardian normally makes the booking. In a Google Meet lesson, other people in your class may hear you and see the name or video you share. We do not record lessons. You can ask for slides and worksheets. Tell your parent/guardian or email the academy if something feels wrong or if you want to ask about your information. You do not need to give us private information about your health or home life through a public form.

Concerns and updates

Contact admin@learncomputing.online first if you wish, but you do not have to complain to us before contacting the Information Commissioner’s Office. You can complain at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or call 0303 123 1113. We update this notice when our processing changes and highlight material changes where appropriate.
